For journalists, researchers and writers: how crypto prices react to US economic releases, measured from Binance's one-minute prices, ready to quote.

How much Bitcoin moves after each major US economic report

The usual swing is the median, over every release since 2021, of how much the price moved in the 15 minutes after the report, against a normal 15 minutes that same day. 1.00x is an ordinary quarter hour; 3.00x is three times the movement. Updated as each release is measured.

Reports out at the same minute, like CPI and Core CPI, share one price window, so their figures are close. Each report's name opens every release of it, with the figures and the reaction.

The monthly record

Each month's Tier 1 and 2 releases: the figure against the forecast, Bitcoin's move in the first 15 minutes, and how its swing compared with what that report usually does.

How it is measured

Prices are Binance's one-minute bars, twelve hours either side of each release. The 15 minutes from the release are set against the median of the day's other 15-minute stretches, for the price's range and for the volume traded. Release figures come from the US agencies that publish them; forecasts are the market consensus.
