That is more than twice what this release usually does. What made it matter

Since 2021, Non-Farm Payrolls releases in the two weeks before a Fed decision have moved Bitcoin about as much as those at other times: a median volatility ratio of 3.15x across 21, against 3.22x across 49. This one was not within two weeks of a Fed decision. Its own ratio of 6.44x compares with 3.22x for those, so it moved the price more than its circumstances alone would suggest.

This is measured by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), which surveys private and government entities throughout the U.S. about their payrolls.
